“As every early American woman knew, quilting is a unique way to add insulaton without adding weight. The Diamond Quilt Pullover is warm, but it's much lighter than most wool or wool blends because it's made of cotton/polyester. It's comfortable next to the skin as super-insulating underwear or by itself as a sweatshirt. The collar is two layers deep to give it substance; all seams are cover-stitched; plastic snaps set in a taffeta placket open for ventilation or snap shut all the way to the top of the turtleneck. The cuffs and waistband are 1' x 1" rib knit. We've used it skiing under an Alpine or Featherweight Shell, bicycling, and as a general purpose warm-up. The fabric weighs only 12 ounces per-square-yard, which means each garment weighs less than a large steak. Shrinkage is about 6-9%; the Pullover is made oversized to accommodate shrinkage. Imported” (Patagonia, Spring 1987).

Please carefully review photos, description, and measurements before purchasing to ensure a proper fit and satisfaction. All orders are shipped in 100% compostable packaging and include a free weatherproof Old School Outdoor sticker. Please note that items for sale are vintage/pre-owned in nature, with most being previously worn. Each garment is carefully inspected during the listing process for imperfections/flaws which are then photographed and/or noted in the item's description. See the “Condition Ratings” tab for more information.

Please refer to the measurements included in the description to ensure a proper fit, as vintage sizing frequently differs slightly from modern sizing. Sizes listed in the product title are based on the “best fits a” size rather than the tag size. To ensure a proper fit, we strongly recommend comparing the provided measurements to a similar garment of your own that fits to your liking. For more information, visit the “How to Measure” tab.
