All measurements are taken directly on the garment while laid flat. All figures are in inches. We recommend comparing our garment measurements against a similar piece you already own that fits well, rather than measuring your body directly.

Many garments fit between two sizes and are listed as such — for example, a piece that sits between a Men’s Medium and Large will be listed as M/L.
Tops & Outerwear
Measurement
How we take it
Chest
Measured straight across from underarm to underarm while the garment is laid flat. Multiply by two for the full chest circumference.
Length
From the highest point of the shoulder — or the top of the collar — straight down to the bottom hem.
Sleeve
From the underarm seam to the end of the cuff along the outer edge of the sleeve.
Bottoms
Measurement
How we take it
Tag Size
The size as labeled on the garment’s original tag.
Waist
Flat across the waistband. Multiply by two for circumference.
Inseam
From the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg, inner side.
Outseam
From the top of the waistband to the bottom of the leg, outer side.
Still unsure?
Every listing includes full garment measurements. If you have a specific question about fit on a particular piece, get in touch — we would rather answer a question than have you receive something that doesn’t fit.

About Vintage Sizing

The size listed on each product reflects our “best fits” estimate rather than the tag size. This is because vintage sizing frequently differs from modern standards, sometimes by one or two sizes.

When in doubt, always go by the measurements — not the tagged size and not our size estimate. The numbers don’t lie.
