“Back in the 70s, we made an infamously homely yet unforgettable pile jacket. It filled a special niche: warm, lightweight, breathable insulation that worked in cold, wet conditions (unlike down or heavy wool). Our Retro Cardigan is the not-so-distant relative of this classic. It has all the benefits of its predecessor, with significantly evolved features, Brushed Capilene mesh, laminated to the inside of the furry, quarter-inch pile, traps warm air and wicks moisture away from the body to the outer tips of the pile. Collected moisture or ice can be shaken out or brushed off. The Cardigan has Y-Joint sleeves, a zippered chest pocket and two zippered, mesh-lined pockets. Made in USA” (Patagonia, Fall 1994).
