“We've postmodernized a classic product from the days of dirt highways, woody station wagons and streamside pan-fried trout. The shirt jacket was then de rigueur: made of scratchy wool the thickness of chain mail, it nevertheless tendered consoling heft against cold-country weather. Our fully lined Synchilla version is considerably lighter on the shoulders, more supple and easier draping, and better at blocking wind and shedding moisture - but it does have the proper '40s authority and bold color and, like its wool ancestor, tails that can be worn tucked in or out. The fit is appropriately over-sized and genuinely unisex (women will find it works well with leggings). Details include a full lining of nylon taffeta, a practical full-length zippered front (with non-corrosive metal zipper), generous zippered chest pockets and button cuffs. Made in USA” (Patagonia, Fall 1994).
Please carefully review photos, description, and measurements before purchasing to ensure a proper fit and satisfaction. All orders are shipped in 100% compostable packaging and include a free weatherproof Old School Outdoor sticker. Please note that items for sale are vintage/pre-owned in nature, with most being previously worn. Each garment is carefully inspected during the listing process for imperfections/flaws which are then photographed and/or noted in the item's description. See the “Condition Ratings” tab for more information.
Please refer to the measurements included in the description of each garment to ensure a proper fit, as vintage sizing frequently differs slightly from modern sizing. Sizes listed in the product title are based on the “best fits a” size rather than the tag size. To ensure a proper fit, we strongly recommend comparing the provided measurements to a similar garment of your own that fits to your liking. For more information, visit the “How to Measure” tab. All sales are final.
